Club 180 Paint & Dog ShowA couple weeks ago, Sydney, Sadie and I planned a visit with Club 180 again. We wanted to bring something fun for the kids, so Sydney suggested taking their new Australian Shepard puppies, Boaz & Lola to visit and teach the kids how to do tricks with the dogs and Sadie and I decided we would also plan a paint activity. We had a great time with the kids. We started out telling them about the story of Noah's Ark and how God cares for the animals. The kids had a short attention span on the story, because they were so excited to get to the "puppy part". Boaz, is a special little puppy who is already living up to his name. We told them of how just the previous weekend, he was very sick with a bacterial infection and he became limp and couldn't walk. We prayed over him and had faith that God would heal him, and a few days later he was jumping and running again! He is super smart and is eager to learn! I know he is going to make an awesome dog! Sydney started out showing the kids tricks he has learned so far, and how she taught him. She went around the room and let the kids take turns having Boaz jump, roll over, sit, lay down, fetch and follow their hand. Later they went outside and let Boaz chase them and took turns walking him on a leash.
Here you see Sadie's puppy "Lola" sitting in the floor. She didn't know many tricks yet, but she enjoied all the attention from the kids!
Next they had a small meal. Club 180 serves them food every day after school, helps with homework, fits in activities and sends them home with snacks.
After eating and everyone "turning their teeth orange"... we started to paint!
We made animals out of their handprints, and since we ran out of time, me and the girls (with the help of my mother) finished out their paintings over the weekend to create their animal.
