Alex and Steven's friendship started in elementary school when he escorted her in the Miss Spectator pageant. They went on their first date when she was 15 and he was 17. College took them separate ways, but they always remained friends. They began dating again in June 2020 and inseparable every since.

I am looking forward to being with my best friend and the love of my life every single day. We always have such a good time together no matter what we are doing. Our lives truly could be a sitcom so there is no doubt it is going to be so much fun. 

How did he pop the question?

My family booked a house in Helen, Ga the week after I graduated with my Master's degree to celebrate. My sister and her husband were taking pictures by the river and asked us to join. During a photo Steven got down on his Knee (in poison Ivy) and asked me to marry him. I cried and then said YES!

Downtown Charlotte Engagement Session

I'm so excited about this wedding! Jayde is one of my favorite cousins and I am so honored to be a part of her wedding! 

Evan proposed to Jayde at her favorite spot on Lake Murray, next to the dam & Lake Murray towers. We picked the downtown Charlotte location for engagement photos, because it holds memories for them as Evan worked in the downtown area and lived in the apartments nearby the park where they spent time together. They look forward to their April 2021 wedding, building their life together, working towards their goals together and getting another dog to keep Murray company!

Allisons wedding gown was soft and feminine with a classic shape, but boasted a delicate embroidery to add just the right amount of elegance.

Allison was surrounded with love and laughter before the ceremony.

Their rings were unique just like their love.

Allison and Shane met through work and quickly realized their common ground in farming and adventure. They share a love of animals, outdoors and simple life.

Here are a few of my favorites !

Boaz, is a special little puppy who is already living up to his name. We told them of how just the previous weekend, he was very sick with a bacterial infection and he became limp and couldn't walk. We prayed over him and had faith that God would heal him, and a few days later he was jumping and running again! He is super smart and is eager to learn! I know he is going to make an awesome dog! 

Sydney started out showing the kids tricks he has learned so far, and how she taught him. She went around the room and let the kids take turns having Boaz jump, roll over, sit, lay down, fetch and follow their hand. Later they went outside and let Boaz chase them and took turns walking him on a leash. 

Here you see Sadie's puppy "Lola" sitting in the floor. She didn't know many tricks yet, but she enjoied all the attention from the kids! 

Next they had a small meal. Club 180 serves them food every day after school, helps with homework, fits in activities and sends them home with snacks. 

After eating and everyone "turning their teeth orange"... we started to paint! 

We made animals out of their handprints, and since we ran out of time, me and the girls (with the help of my mother) finished out their paintings over the weekend to create their animal.

We added scriptures to the paintings "Love each other as I have loved you" John 15;12 and "Seek God's will in all you do and He will direct your path" Proverbs 3:6

We fell in love with these sweet little faces! As much fun as they had, these kids were such a blessing to me and the girls! We look forward to going back on May 26th for their "End of School" party! They have requested we bring back the puppies, so we better get started on some new tricks!

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Columbia, SC, that serves as an after school feeding center for at-risk children ages 5 to 18 years old in District One. What a great wedding! This one was super special to me because Cody is my nephew and Chelsi has been his one and only for years! 

I will start out with a couple favorites from Chelsi's bridal portrait. These were taken in a special place in the woods behind her house where she used to play as a little girl. What a beautiful bride she is! I love her unique style! 

Chelsi and her mother Pepsi...they are both absolutely beautiful! 

I love this spot on the back porch of the house. Beautiful light overlooking the pond. 

I love the colors of the flowers with the dresses! Chelsi's mother put together the arrangements!  Bridesmaids: on the left her two sister in law's and on the right, best friends from college.

So precious! Her brother's two children Mason & Madeline. Looks like mason was super sleepy!

Chelsi's Dad Mark is a pastor and had the honor of officiating the ceremony. It was so personal and heartfelt. Of course, I cried. At this moment I remember all of the sudden looking through the camera and it all hitting me. My little Cody is getting married! The photos are clear, but my eyes were not! 

Their were several very beautiful moments in the ceremony, this is one of my favorites. Planting a tree together to represent the care and nurturing it takes to have a Godly marriage. Pastor Mark searched for the perfect tree and talked about how the tree was connected to a larger tree representing God and family. He had a beautiful message tying in the care of the tree. 

Here, Cody & Chelsi wanted to have their parents and grandparents pray over them and give their blessing over their new life together. Loved it! 

I loved the little kid's coloring books Chelsi made! All stories of fairy tale weddings ! 

A fun signature album I made from their engagement session. I love this because each page asks a different question to get advice from the wedding guest! 

I love this little trick! So fun to mess with the groom! When we blindfolded him, only Chelsi was in the chair. Now he has to find her! haha! 

These two cousins could not be pulled apart! Ethan was attached to blaine, and copied everything he did all night! 

Watching Cody & Chelsi dance reminded me of the first time I saw them dance together. I have always photographed the high school proms, and I was able to do Cody's senior prom. They has only been dating a few months, and the were both quiet and shy around others. When they stepped out on the dance floor that night, it was like they were the only ones their. They had so much fun together and didn't care who was watching! Shocked everyone! I had a deep feeling then that this day would come! Perfect match! 

Cody's brother Zach & his beautiful wife Erika. (also newly married)  I've never seen him so happy! 

Turns out Pastor Mark & Chelsi had a few dance moves to impress everyone with! I could imagine her as a little girl dancing around the house with her daddy thinking of this day.

I met Claire at her first session when she was a week old. She was alert and mobile! She is such a strong little girl! She wiggled and kicked out of every wrap but she loved it when mommy & Daddy were holding her! She stayed alert through all of her session. She didn't want to miss a thing! I love the way she just studied everything around her! 

A couple weeks later, I visited Claire to get a few more photos. I loved her nursery! The little grey elephants are a popular thing! 

Look at those sweet little feet! 

One month old and Mary Claire is practically standing up in this bucket! She is strong, wide-eyed and alert! I think she will be keeping her big sisters busy! 

Congratulations to Katie & Mitchell! I can't wait to see her again! Such a sweet baby! 

Meet Elizabeth "Ellie" Harper Matthews! She arrived on Wednesday, November 9th at 2:07pm, 7lbs 4oz, 20 inches long. Ellie was born at the new Park Ridge Hospital, in Irmo, SC. This is my first time photographing a birth, and it was amazing. Shelby was so strong, focused and patient. Mark was steady support. As soon as Ellie arrived and he first laid eyes on his little girl, I knew he would never be the same. Shelby couldn't wait to console Ellie. When she snuggled into her mother's gown she settled right down with the sound of a familiar heartbeat and warmth of her mother. 

One week later…. what a beautiful little nursery! Floral cribbing, sweet little gray elephants, more clothes & hair bows  than she could ever wear neatly organized and waiting to accessorize sweet baby Ellie!

There were several organizations and volunteers involved for the block party. It was great to see the community come together for the overall cause and support each other.

The kids loved the Balloon characters by Balloonopolis! Jenna, the balloon lady had a continuous line of kids for two hours! 

It was great to see the Richland County Sherriff's Department  out supporting the block party. The kids loved the Giant Officer they brought out! 

These guys were awesome! Christian Rap Artist, all with their separate ministries, but they often work together. Sinclair Salters, 4runna, Tilplaceleft, JayWill & Davyne Dantzler. You can also find them on Urban City Radio & Freethinkers Radio. 

Home Depot of Lexington & Irmo also came together for the event and sent a great crew out to do wood crafts with the kids. It was awesome to see all the kids working together and helping each other with the projects. 

This sweet man volunteered his time and equipment and started cooking early Saturday am to provide good food for the event. 

We met several families and kids that will be able to participate in the program Club 180 will provide in the community. This is one beautiful lady and her 3 girls that live in the area.  She will be using the after school program for her girls.

Hannah & her grandfather made this bench together. It was an old bed frame they took apart and made into a bench for her bridal portrait! Love it! 

The wedding day started the day at Matt's parents historical home in Laurens where the entire wedding party prepared for the day. I loved this place! Long winding driveway leading to the house, beautiful light in every room, big open rooms with a mix of modern and antique style. 

The bridal party was so much fun! Coming up the winding stairs I heard laughter, singing and music from the girls.

Annabel was the sweetest little flower girl! She was interested in every detail! 

Mrs. Donna, Matt's mother, had this beautiful brass hanger to hang Hannah's wedding dress. It went perfectly with the delicate lace, buttons and brass chandler. 

Look at these beautiful girls! College roommates, high school friends, family & work relationships turned to great friendships! She is surrounded by the girls that have her back! They all were so beautiful and fun to be around. I loved the burnt orange, boots & fall flowers! 

With girls like this, you have to do the "Bridesmaid's Movie" pose. We had to add to it a little. With the busted zipper accident! 

The guys…they needed a lot of supervision. They were crazy. Especially the one on the end. Travis was a complete nut, but he kept everyone entertained all day! With all the craziness, Matt was super calm. I think he just wanted to get married!

Next we headed to the wedding ceremony. The Clinton House Plantation marked my first time shooting at this beautiful venue. The plantation is a hunting preserve in Laurens county that host memorable hunts year round with weddings sprinkled in between. On Saturday, September 17th they started out the fall season with Matt & Hannah's wedding day. 

These sweet little girls are some of Hannah's gymnastic students at Dance South in Laurens where she teaches. Later in the night, they took over the dance floor! 

Carter & Blake were the cutest little ring bearers carrying a message for Matt down the isle. Haha

The Ceremony was beautiful, short and sweet! It's hot outside and time to celebrate! 

Wedding cakes are my favorite! Every detail of the reception was beautiful! I loved the table decorations and the food was outstanding! 

"Black Tie Affair" These guys have been bringing the party for almost 25 years! They were great! 

My favorite! Tricking Matt into getting the garter off of Mr. Ringer's leg! We should have had him shave a little! Hahaha!

"Gray" didn't want to stand where you wanted her & she wanted to eat everything she saw (including Rynn's shirt).

She finally calmed down a little and cooperated. 

Until Rynn wanted to walk her somewhere else... Eventually she settled down and enjoied the attention. Actually we bribed her with treats. 

 Behind the scenes of one Sydney took.. Turned out BEAUTIFUL :) One of my favorites of Rynn. She is such a beautiful, sweet girl. She is actually a city girl, but we have totally taken that out of her. She hangs out with us a lot and I have quickly turned her into farm help and a decent little rider!

When I first walked into the hospital room, I was greeted with a sweet hug by proud big sister Natalie. She was so excited to show off her new baby brother. She couldn't stop smiling! She watched every little move he made and was eager to tell me all about him. 

Natalie is 100% Daddy's little girl. While Cash got a quick snack ;) Natalie and Shane were intently playing a game of "I Spy". I could tell this is something they do often. 

Now Cash is happy and ready for more photos. Natalie is thrilled to snuggle with him. He is a little confused and is trying to suck on her face! 

We can't leave out Mr. Fox! Picked out by Natalie for Cash to snuggle with :)

My friend Katie had her baby! I can't believe Lane is here! I had to make a trip to the hospital to take a few quick photos of this sweet little boy. There will be lots more to come! He is my new "baby model" and we are going to have so much fun with this little cowboy! 

His big sister Kenna, having some fun, showing his head is about the size of a doughnut! 

This sweet little boy will never learn to walk due to his big sisters Kenna & Mikhail! 

Poor daddy worked so hard delivering this baby. He's tired. I'm glad Katie was nice enough to let him take a nap! ;)

Heres a couple I took of the tennis court fence, which I told them look boring at first, but if you move around and get different perspectives, it can be very interesting! Notice the "leading lines" headed to Ethan on the bench on the far right photo. When you put the 3 photos together it frames him in a cool way. Because well…Ethan is cool. ( Next time you head to the Piggly Wiggly and he rings you up, give him a high five and tell him how cool he is ;)

Here's on of a very old cactus plant. Using the macro lens, we talked about focusing on one area, and stepped through the changes to get the light were we want it and show the detail in the spikes so the rest of the plant fades away into a blur. One of the students took this one. A even cooler shot would be to get in a little closer and move around the plant for different perspectives. 

We had to stop and include  Mr. Willie in our day! He is a staple of main street. Always and encouraging word and a big smile on his face! He is the best car detail man around! Although today, he was preparing his fishing rod! We talked about instead of "posing" someone, to just talk to them as you photograph them. Get real responses, ask questions, be interested in them and joke around. Before you know it, you have gotten a few great shots during a short engaging conversation!  Much better than a stiff, posed photo. You can't look at this one and not LOVE Mr. Willie! Such an awesome man!  

Then we bombarded Thomas's Grill for lunch! As we waited, I photographed a few of the kids. I took these simple photos of Chase, and I wanted to focus on accentuating his gorgeous blue eyes.  We talked about a starting point with your camera, looking at what you have in the first shot and changing the settings to get to where you want to be.  The first photo of Chase was my starting point. It didn't show his eyes off like I wanted and the light was to hot on his face, so to fix that I had him turn his nose towards the light and I changed my position so I could get a better shot showing off his blue eyes and also cut out the distractions in the background. Chase, is super cool and had to keep his cool face on, so I had to trick him into a real smile.  I really loved the little bit of time I was able to spend with this class! I went to the school a few months ago and was able to teach them a few things about the elements of photography and composition. So much fun! I can't wait to have more time with them again! Thanks to Mrs. Bryant for having me! Hopefully, I will get access to some of the photos the students took with their phones and school cameras so I can post them soon!

A little about Ben and Tori, they first met at church years ago and soon after Ben and Tori's brother, Kevin became friends. Ben started to hang out more and about 4/5 years ago they were both at a 4th of July party when Tori caught Ben's attention. Ben approached Tori's mother and politely asked permission to dance with her daughter. (coolest thing ever, guy's don't do that kind of thing anymore). Their first official date was an Eric Church concert, then they began hunting together and soon became official. 

So one night this past December, they took a walk in downtown Newberry and under the Christmas lights at Town Hall, he asked the big question and she said YES! November 19th 2016 can't get here fast enough!

I gave Sydney a little guidance in camera settings, but other than that, it was all her! I had a lot of favorites, but we narrowed them down to these. (and of course we had to mark them with her own logo…still under the CWilbanks Photography theme since she is on her way as a paid photographer assistant!)

And here is Sydney's signature shot. The first one is of their first horse, Sugar.  (Sydney entered it in the SC BETA Club photo competition a couple years ago and got 2nd place) We had to do another one symbolizing Sadie's stages in horses with Red Man. 

Seriously, their is nothing that makes me happier than these two girls and their horses. I am so grateful for the blessings we have been given with these special relationships and life lessons only a horse can give!

She was the perfect little girl for her session! We changed her outfits, hair bows, moved her around, and she just snuggled down and looked around or fell asleep. So So sweet! Stephanie & Vance Smith are two lucky parents! I am so excited to have Aubrey on my Baby Plan! I get to see her every 3 months!!!

These made me so happy! I bought this little stroller a couple years ago and this is only the 2nd time I have been able to use it! :) Love it!!

Nathan is such an awesome kid! I have been friends with his parents Larry & Crystal for ages!! They are seriously some of the funniest people I know. Nathan acts just like his crazy daddy. Not only is Nathan funny, but he is super smart. 

Principal's Honor Roll since kindergarden, Newberry Rotary Club Student of the Month, Newberry Exchange Club Student of the Month, WCS Band Major ( and member for 6 years), CPR Certified, Certified SCUBA Diver, Attended Palmetto Boys State, Currently 2nd in his Senior Class

Nathan also has been accepted to USC and will be majoring in Biology. 

I can't even name all the instruments he plays, but here are some cool playful silhouettes, as you can see, it's hard to get him serious.

Jasper is the son of Justin & Helen Howe, I sometimes trail ride with Helen, and can't wait to add Jasper to our rides in a few years! He was the sweetest baby! I am so excited to photograph his first year!

Maverick is the son of Stephanie & Sam Martin, I've known them for a few years, as horse riding buddies. I'm so excited to have Maverick on the baby plan so I can photograph his first year. I can't wait to see his personality and interest develop! We traveled to their home to photograph him in his nursery. As you will see, his room is full of tiny little boots & horses. It won't be long and Maverick will be in the show arena and trails like his parents! Here are a few of my favorites. 

I loved the pallet wall his daddy built in his room and the board on the wall is not just a piece of wood, it came from Stephanie's Daddy's old barn. It says

"Hold him a little longer, rock him a little more, tell him another story (you've only told him 4), let him sleep on your shoulder, rejoice in his happy smile, he is only a little boy for such a little while" 

We wanted Maverick to curl up on Stephanie's saddle, but he wasn't sure about it. Daddy calmed him right down and he was just fine. 

Maverick is still loving to curl in a little ball, just like he was just 8 days ago! He settled right down into the little bucket :)

Chet & Cassie Trotter…very laid back fun couple! I was at home with this wedding! I met Cassie's family a couple years ago when I photographed he sister Kelly's wedding at the 401 Whaley in Downtown Columbia! Another great wedding! Now this wedding, Katie & Eric Rast…they actually got married in September of 2014, but I had to repost it because now that are expecting a baby! They were married on Eric's Family ranch {Double J} in Union County. Beautiful wedding. Eric rode in on his horse Lady that he has had and competed off of for years, same horse Katie had her bridal portraits with. (not sure who Eric was more excited about having a portrait of :).. Katie was carried in by a horse & buggy, where her 2 girls met her and walked down the isle. It was a beautiful wedding. Katie is one of my best friends, I am so excited for them! Look out for baby Rast photos around June 2016!

Chris is my nieces boyfriend and has been considered a part of our family for a few years now. He has past all the family test, including our test here at the Wilbanks farm. He can ride horses well, help make hunting spots and find missing pigs! :) Seriously, he is a great guy. He has vision for his life, very polite, hard working, smart and always willing to help. He's pretty quiet and seems shy, but when you get to know him, he has a great personality. We are very proud of Chris and encourage him in his future plans! Here are a few of my favorites!

Here are a few of my favorites from this week's Flag, Junior, Pee Wee teams & cheerleaders.  Some of these little ones were like posing Jello once we got to the team photo! They were so cute! and wiggly, and hyper!  This one is special. The three coaches and their boys. These guys have been coaching since their kids were 4 & 5 years old, every sport. I suspect they will stick with it as long as their boys are playing. (and I went to school with these guys too:) Great Daddys! The one in the middle is a little crazy, the other two coaches are too cool to participate! haha

Such a sweet little boy! I love his little moe hawk! His hair would not stay combed so they just went with it! 

 I'm sure his big sister Brooklynn and brother Isaac will be a lot of help!

The Wedding Day

Kevin & Lindsay Brehmer's wedding was awesome! I love this family. I used to work with Lindsay's sister Ashley, photographed her wedding :) and had the honor of photographing Lindsay's also. I was so excited to do it.  The day started out at the Kyzer home where the girls got ready. Lots of chatter, laughter and selfies!

Meet the groom, Kevin Brehmer and his posse. Fun group of guys! They got pretty entertaining as the day went on!

Love love the little ring man Bryson. He was the cutest ever!   Check out the look on Kevin's face as Lindsay came throughout the doors of the church! He was beaming! He was so excited to see her. 

This beautiful cake was made by Lindsay's mother, Barbra. So special, and it was very good! 

We decided to play a little trick on Kevin :) Daddy should have shaved his legs and cut his toenails!
