Alex & Steven.. Love Story

Alex and Steven's friendship started in elementary school when he escorted her in the Miss Spectator pageant. They went on their first date when she was 15 and he was 17. College took them separate ways, but they always remained friends. They began dating again in June 2020 and inseparable every since.

What is the one thing you're looking forward to in your life-after-marriage together?

I am looking forward to being with my best friend and the love of my life every single day. We always have such a good time together no matter what we are doing. Our lives truly could be a sitcom so there is no doubt it is going to be so much fun.

How did he pop the question?

My family booked a house in Helen, Ga the week after I graduated with my Master's degree to celebrate. My sister and her husband were taking pictures by the river and asked us to join. During a photo Steven got down on his Knee (in poison Ivy) and asked me to marry him. I cried and then said YES!

Jayde & Evan : Downtown Charlotte NC : Engagement

Jayde Corley : Evan Finley

Downtown Charlotte Engagement Session

I'm so excited about this wedding! Jayde is one of my favorite cousins and I am so honored to be a part of her wedding!

Evan proposed to Jayde at her favorite spot on Lake Murray, next to the dam & Lake Murray towers. We picked the downtown Charlotte location for engagement photos, because it holds memories for them as Evan worked in the downtown area and lived in the apartments nearby the park where they spent time together. They look forward to their April 2021 wedding, building their life together, working towards their goals together and getting another dog to keep Murray company!

If Walls Could Talk

February 02, 2021  •  Leave a Comment

If these walls could talk, what would they say? Walking around this old Montana cabin, I wondered what was the story here. It sits quietly on the base of the Yellowstone river, still standing, still speaking. Erie and quiet, memories blowing through the open frame. Cows pass by, and the river moving in the distance. It was hard to walk away. It invited me to linger and imagine stories of days gone by.

Year after year

I have come to love slowly

how old houses hold themselves-

before November's drizzled rain

or the refreshing light of June-

as if they have all come to agree

that, in time, the days are no longer

a matter of suffering or rejoicing.

I have come to love

how they take on the color of rain or sun

as they go on keeping their vigil

without need of a sign, awaiting nothing

more than the birds that sing from the eaves,

the seizing cold that sounds the rafters.
